Lewis Stevenson pens new Hibs deal as history maker roars he's far from finished at Easter Road

Hibs history maker Lewis Stevenson has penned a new deal at Easter Road - and revealed his dream to play out his career at Easter Road.The 35-year-old became the club’s all time record league appearance holder this season and currently sits fourth on the list across all competitions behind legends Gordon Smith, Arthur Duncan and Pat Stanton.

Now he’s signed on for another year in Leith after scoring the goal that secured their Premiership top six finish against St Johnstone a fortnight ago.Stevenson - the only Hibs player to have lifted both the League Cup and Scottish Cup - has made 572 appearances for the club since his debut in 2005.

And he said: “Everyone knows how much Hibs means to me and I’d like to play here for the rest of my career.“I feel pretty good, there are little things I can’t do that I did 10 years ago, but I still feel good physically, and feel like I can help the team both on and off the pitch.

I never imagined I’d go on to make as many appearances for Hibs as I have, but I want to keep working hard, playing, and have more success here.”Boss Lee Johnson added: “In this modern day and age, it’s not often you have a player that shows the kind of loyalty Lewy has to Hibs.
