Lewis Hamilton secured victory at the British Grand Prix on Sunday but was accused of ‘dirty driving’ following Max Verstappen’s 180mph crash.
Hamilton was handed a 10-second penalty after he dived down Verstappen’s inside on the entry to Copse. Hamilton’s front wing made contact with Verstappen’s rear tyre, which sent the Red Bull driver spinning into a tyre barrier at a 51G impact.
Verstappen was able to get out of his car but was visibly shaken from the crash and was subsequently taken to hospital. Speaking on his team radio after the incident, Hamilton said: ‘I was ahead going in there, man.
