Lewis Capaldi (born 7 October 1996) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the 2019 Brit Awards. In March 2019, his single "Someone You Loved" topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 17 May 2019 he released his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks.

Lewis Capaldi has plenty of new music up his sleeve, but he won’t be releasing anything in 2020. Why you ask? Well, the people have suffered enough.

The Someone You Loved hit-maker, 23, thinks that this year is already too much of a pity party and he doesn’t want to overload us all with more tracks all about heartbreak, while we wallow in all things coronavirus.

He’s not wrong that 2020 is something of a total write off, thanks to the global pandemic putting the world into lockdown, and Lewis is postponing any new material until 2021.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he revealed: ‘Hopefully I will release a new song and a new album next year. I won’t release another album this year or anything.’‘I think people have suffered enough in 2020,’ he.
