Letitia Wright took over the eponymous superhero role from her late co-star Chadwick Boseman in Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which grossed a mighty $860 million in fall 2022, but the studio has yet to put a “Black Panther 3” on its release calendar or confirm that Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther is featured in the next “Avengers” movies. “Let’s just say … I would like to continue with Shuri,” Wright recently said on “The View” when asked about Shuri appearing in the new “Avengers” movies (“Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” is on the calendar for May 1, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” is set for May 1, 2027). “She’s one of my favorite characters.
Such a blessing, honestly. I kid you not, I’m so grateful for her.” When pressed about “Black Panther 3,” Wright answered: “There’s a lot to, a lot to — a lot coming up.” That’s all Wright could disclose for now about her Marvel future.
Back in January 2023, the actor told Variety that she thought “Black Panther 3” was “already in the works.” Wright added at the time: “You know, we just had a terrific two years of bringing it out and everybody coming together to support it.
