Netflix series Cheer, has pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography and soliciting sex from minors.During a change of plea hearing in a Chicago federal court yesterday (February 10), Harris admitted to one count of travelling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a 15-year-old and one count of receiving child abuse images from a 17-year-old.Harris, 22, pleaded guilty to two of the seven felony counts against him. Prosecutors agreed to drop the remaining five counts under a plea agreement.Harris was arrested in September 2020 on a charge of production of child abuse imagery.

Microsoft president Brad Smith has said that staff at Activision Blizzard will be “under scrutiny” following its acquisition of the publisher.Last month, Microsoft purchased Activision Blizzard in a deal worth around £50billion, with the US Federal Trade Commission currently conducting an antitrust investigation.The purchase comes after Activision was hit by a lawsuit filed by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and another by the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission following multiple allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, and workplace misconduct.In between that, its own staff also filed a complaint too, alleging that the company used intimidation and “coercive tactics” to stifle staff trying to improve working conditions.It’s also been alleged that Activision CEO Bobby Kotick was aware of sexual misconduct claims within the company since 2018 but did not inform Activision’s board of directors. A report by the Wall Street Journal also suggested that Kotick played a first-hand part in the culture that has embroiled Activision in sexual harassment lawsuits and investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission.Speaking CNBC (via VGC) about the accusations, Smith said: “We’re looking to the leadership team at Activision Blizzard today to make culture and workplace safety a top priority every single day, until the day when this deal hopefully closes.

Monkeys being used for experimentation at a lab involved with Elon Musk’s Neuralink project “had their brains mutilated in shoddy experiments and were left to suffer and die,” according to a report.The biotech company from Tesla founder Musk is accused of abusing the monkeys being used in the testing stages.It's claimed macaque monkeys used by the University of California, Davis, in connection with the Neuralink experiments suffered severe physical and mental trauma – sometimes even before the experiments began.The allegations stem from a report by The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine [PCRM], an animal rights group that campaigns to replace the use of lab animals with “human-relevant methods."UC Davis received more than $1.4 million (£1m) from Neuralink to carry out the experiments which are aimed at perfecting a link between computers and the human mind.A PCRM report says that “most of the animals had portions of their skulls removed to implant electrodes in their brains as part of Neuralink’s development of a ‘brain-machine interface’.”The group’s shocking report also claims: “Neuralink and UC Davis staff failed to provide dying monkeys with adequate veterinary care, used an unapproved substance known as ‘Bioglue’ that killed monkeys by destroying portions of their brains, and failed to provide for the psychological well-being of monkeys assigned to the experiment”.It adds the tiny monkeys used in the experiment were caged alone, and had steel posts screwed to their skulls, leading in some cases to “seizures following brain implants, and recurring infections at implant sites”.In some cases, says PCRM, the animals were so badly injured they had to be put down even before the experiments had properly
