As well as three group matches, the stadium will also host a quarter final fixture.The tournament, which is being hosted in England, is being touted as the one of the most significant events in the history of UEFA.Originally scheduled for this year, it has been pushed back a year due to the pandemic.The announcement comes just months after Leigh Sports Village was chosen to host three matches at this year's Rugby League World Cup.Leader of Wigan Council, Coun David Molyneux, said: “Next summer is set to be another showpiece of women’s football at the highest level, and we are incredibly proud that Leigh Sports Village will be playing its part as a host venue in UEFA Women’s.
