Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Celtic bench as the striker gets his chance to impress against Hibs. The Scotland international was left out of the squad that travelled to France for a series of glamour friendly matches after returning overweight following the shutdown.

Manager Neil Lennon was scathing in his criticism of the 29-year-old, stating that he was in no condition to play in the Veolia Tournament or face Paris Saint-Germain.

Griffiths has improved his fitness with individual work though, and has been rewarded with a place on the bench against his former side.

Lennon said after Sunday's win over Ross County: "He's got himself in great condition. He needs a little bit of time in terms of his football."It's a great boost.
