Hip hop legend LL Cool J has revealed his unexpected admiration for Gardeners' World host Monty Don - even asking the presenter for a selfie when they crossed paths behind the scenes at BBC Breakfast this weekend.

According to fellow BBC presenter Nina Warhurst, 'Paradise' rapper and his crew couldn't resist approaching Monty, who has become quite popular in the US following his American Gardens series in 2020.

LL Cool J, who recently made a comeback to music after an 11-year break, was on BBC Breakfast to discuss his new album, The Forge.

And Nina spilled the beans about the unlikely encounter in the Salford offices, sharing that she overheard LL Cool J - whose real name is James Todd Smith - and his entourage expressing their fandom for Monty and requesting a selfie.
