Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani paid £1.5million out of his pocket every month last season to keep the club afloat. Radrizzani has been criticised by some Leeds fans for not spending enough on players during his three years in full control at Elland Road.
Managing director Angus Kinnear claims Radrizzani’s spending was capped by the EFL’s rules and that he personally paid the club £1.5million each month last season to help them pay their bills. “The dialogue on the internet is about Andrea not being able to invest in the team, even to the extent he was stealing from the club to line his own pockets,” Kinnear said in an interview in the second series of Amazon Prime’s Take Us Home. “The reality is Andrea can’t put any more money in.
