Lee Johnson insists the data shows Hibs are getting closer to Rangers – but he wants a win to prove it. The Leith side have run their Govan counterparts close this season after taking a point in last August’s clash at Easter Road before narrowly losing out 3-2 in December at Ibrox.
Hibs only have one win in their last 18 games against Rangers but Johnson is adamant there they have a good chance of taking their scalp again.
Johnson, whose side have reignited hopes of finishing third following a run of five wins from seven Premiership outings, said: “It would be a statement win if we got the victory.
We have to aim to get closer to the Old Firm. I am big on data and in my interview I presented where Hibs were and where I wanted to take us. “It’s getting closer to the Old Firm.
