LCD Soundsystem are set to release a brand new album sometime next year.Today, James Murphy and co were announced as one of the performers for next year’s edition of Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain.
The 23rd edition of the festival will be returning to the Parc del Fòrum from June 4-8 in the Spanish city, and will see performances from FKA Twigs, HAIM, Jamie xx, Fontaines D.C., Beach House, IDLES, Clairo, Turnstile and more.Speaking about LCD Soundsystem’s performance at the music bash, a press release for Primavera Sound read: “If this is a celebration, then let’s embrace LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends’ as the official anthem of Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025.“Almost twenty years after giving the world this dance-rock ode to friendship, the influential band led by James Murphy will come back to the festival (and with a new album!) to make it clear that, although they are an inherent part of our best memories, their time is always now.”The news of a new album being on the way comes after the group shared a surprise new song ‘X-Ray Eyes’ earlier this week.Debuted as a “worldwide exclusive” on NTS Radio this past Tuesday (October 22), the song marked the first new material from the group – aside from the standalone ‘New Body Rhumba‘ from Noah Baumbach’s 2022 film White Noise – since 2017 comeback album ‘American Dream’, which itself arrived after a seven-year hiatus following 2010’s ‘This Is Happening’.The New York dance pioneers have been busy touring for the last few years, particularly with residency shows in the UK, US and Europe.
