Layton Williams has been dazzling us on Strictly Come Dancing and now he’s bringing the ballroom fun to Bad Education for its all-singing, all-dancing festive special.
The 29-year-old, who plays Stephen Carmichael in the comedy reboot, says he was “absolutely thrilled” to show off his West End skills. “I’ve been gagging for a Christmas singy-songy musical moment from day dot,” he confesses.
Putting a Bad Education spin on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol , the special sees Stephen visited by ghosts of past, present and future as he decides whether to stay at Abbey Grove.
Haunting the school’s halls is Jack Whitehall, who returns as Alfie Wickers for a “magical” musical number. “I think people are going to be surprised,” Layton says. “I’ve got to give it to him, I think he actually learned the choreo on the day.
