Liam Boyce did not appreciate just how good Hearts team-mate Lawrence Shankland was until he started playing with the Scotland striker.
On Saturday, Boyce also got a shock at just how easy Shankland found it to pinch goals. Shanks was credited with the winning strike in the hard-fought victory over St Johnstone even though he knew nothing about it.
Boyce’s shot hit off his strike partner’s boots before flying past Dimitar Mitov at the front post. In the end experienced Northern Ireland marksman Boyce was forced to concede defeat in his bid to claim what would have been only his second goal of the season.
