Ethan Shanfeld Laverne Cox announced she has stepped down as the host of E!’s “Live From the Red Carpet” ahead of the 2025 Golden Globes. “With an incredible amount of gratitude I’ve decided not to return as host of #LiveFromE’s red carpet coverage.

I’m so incredibly proud of the work we did over my three year tenure,” Cox wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a montage of clips from various awards ceremonies, in which the “Orange Is the New Black” alum interviews celebrities including Tracee Ellis Ross, Andrew Garfield, Steve Martin and Martin Short, Cynthia Erivo and Dua Lipa.

Cox thanked E!, its parent company NBCUniversal and the production company behind her “If We’re Behind Honest” show, Den of Thieves, for their “incredible support.” “These moments are a reminder to me of what an incredible privilege it has been to talk to some of the world’s greatest artists about their work, navigating the pressures of success, etc.,” Cox wrote. “I’m so excited to keep growing, evolving and exploring great opportunities as an actress, artist, host and speaker.

I hope you’ll all continue to go with me on my evolving journey.” Cox, whose acting credits also include “Promising Young Woman,” “Uglies” and “Musical Chairs,” took over as host of E!’s “Live From the Red Carpet” in January 2022, replacing Giuliana Rancic.
