Comet 2014 UN271/(Bernardinelli-Bernstein) was thought to be around 60 to 230 miles wide, but more precise calculations have now indicated it is 85 miles across - around the same distance as London to Birmingham.The Megacomet is more than ten times the size of the meteor that is believed to have wiped out the dinosaurs more than 65 million years ago, which was put at just seven miles wide.

Winter Olympics was left covered in blood after being struck in the face by one of the players’ sticks during a clash between the USA and Canada.Cianna Lieffers was in charge of the event between the two North American rivals, and had her eyes on the action behind one of the nets.The flailing stick of America’s Amanda Kessel accidentally struck Liffers in the face, which led to a nasty cut between her nose and top lip.Following the accident the official quickly fell to the floor clutching her face, before play was stopped.Lieffers was then escorted off the ice with the aid of the Canadian team, where she then received medical treatment for the facial gash.Remarkably though the referee was back on the ice minutes later, but appeared to signal to photographers to refrain from taking pictures of her wound.Lieffers’ return came at a pivotal point in the match, as the Canadian’s went on to secure an impressive comeback after finding themselves 2-1 down.Were you surprised that that the referee returned to play?
