All eyes will be on Lanarkshire skater girls Jennifer Gibson and Megan Cassidy next week when they put on an ice-cool performance in an inaugural competition that could see them progressing to compete on a world stage.Jennifer, 26, of Carfin, Motherwell, and 22-year-old Megan, of Shawhead, Coatbridge, will be among 73 athletes from across Scotland, England and Wales who will represent their region in the first Special Olympics GB National Winter Games – a prestigious competition for people with intellectual (learning) disabilities.On Saturday, they’ll jet out with their parents to Flogaria, Trento, Italy, where they will showcase their skills as accomplished and enthusiastic figure skaters.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
