Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Lanarkshire drug misuse deaths are above the Scottish average

Drug-related deaths in Lanarkshire are above the national average according to new statistics.Figures released on Thursday (July 28) by the National Records of Scotland show that drug misuse deaths across the region are higher than Scotland’s average.The data highlights cases from last year, which are the most recently recorded figures.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It is still the second highest annual total on record, with 1330 people losing their lives to drug misuse.Julie Ramsay, vital events statistician at NRS, said: “Drug misuse deaths have increased substantially over the past few decades – there were more than five times as many deaths in 2021 compared with 1996."Last year (2021) is the first year since 2013 that drug misuse deaths have not increased.“In 2021, after adjusting for age, people in the most deprived areas were more than 15 times as likely to have a drug misuse death as those in the least deprived areas.
