Lanarkshire businesses announced as the main sponsor for council awards

The Lanarkshire Business Awards are back after two years due to the effects of COVID-19.Applications closed last week with a huge rise in submissions from previous years, showing how keen Lanarkshire companies are to get back to business and celebrate their successes.Now, judges will get to work shortlisting finalists for each category, which will be announced in June.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Albert Barlett potatoes, the UK’s lead supplier of potatoes, will be the sponsor of this year's awards. The family-owned company was founded in 1948 and has its headquarters in Airdrie.

Michael Jarvis, head of marketing at the firm, told Lanarkshire Live : “We have been proudly based in Lanarkshire since our founder started the business in his garden shed in Coatbridge 74 years ago.
