Lanark sight loss charity receives welcome donation

A sight loss support group has received a welcome donation of nearly £1000 in memory of a former volunteer and well-known Lanark community stalwart.Members of the town’s Macular Society support group, launched last year, were presented with the bumper cheque from funds which had been raised by a previous similar group led by popular local woman Greta Steven.Greta, who died in 2021 and whose vision had been affected by macular disease, was described as an “avid volunteer” and tributes were paid to her contribution to the sight charity and to local organisations at the afternoon tea presentation.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It was such a lovely afternoon and nice to do this in Greta’s memory.“She was a lovely person – Greta would do anything for anyone and nothing was too much trouble.
