Lana Del Rey has opened up about her upcoming country album ‘Lasso’, and how different it will be from her previous material – see what she had to say below.Earlier this year, Lana Del Rey announced her 10th studio album, ‘Lasso’, which she confirmed will see her venture into country, and is being made alongside both regular collaborator, producer and Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff and country music maker Luke Laird.Little has been revealed about the album, which has yet to receive a release date.
However, the singer-songwriter has now revealed several details about the sonics of the upcoming record. In a new interview with Vogue, Del Rey said of ‘Lasso’: “All my albums are somewhat rooted in Americana, unless it’s an album like ‘Honeymoon’ which has a jazz flair, so I don’t think it will be a heavy departure.”She continued, explaining: “If anything, it will just be a little lighter lyrically, and more pointed in a classic country, American, or Southern Gothic production — which again, so many of my songs already are.”As for teasers of the album, Lana Del Rey most recently teamed up with rapper Quavo to release ‘Tough’ in early July.
