Lana Del Rey just wrapped a brief fall tour of the United States, and at her final show in Charleston, West Virginia, the singer-songwriter claimed that she’s been donating the tour’s earnings back into the cities where she’s performed.
Del Rey made the statement before ending her show with a performance of “Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” the title track from her most recent studio album, released in March. “Every ticket, every dollar, it is poured right back into the city,” Del Rey says, claiming that she doesn’t need the money from touring.
It’s all worth taking with a grain of salt, obviously, since she doesn’t elaborate any further on how the money is donated or how to verify her statement.
But, if true, pretty cool! Read her full remarks and watch a video of them via Consequence below. Read Next: Lana Del Rey opens up about working at Waffle House.
