Lady Gaga has explained how upcoming album ‘Mayhem’ differs from her back catalogue. Find out what she had to say below.The singer’s highly anticipated seventh album is set for release on Friday (March 7) and is available for pre-order here.
It follows on from 2020’s ‘Chromatica’ and her Joker: Folie a Deux companion record ‘Harlequin’ which was released last year.So far, Gaga has released three singles from the record: the hit collaborative track with Bruno Mars, ‘Die With A Smile’, ‘Disease’ and ‘Abracadabra’.
She has also revealed the album’s full tracklist, which will include a feature from DJ and producer Gesaffelstein.Now, in a new interview with Zane Lowe, the singer-songwriter has explained how the LP sits in her discography, and the different approach she has taken with it compared to her previous albums.In a new teaser for her interview with Lowe for Apple Music, Gaga said: “‘Artpop’ [2013] was a vibe. ‘Joanne’ [2016] was a sound, ‘Chromatica’ [2020] had a sound all different [to the rest].“‘The Fame Monster’ [2009]was more chaotic, ‘The Fame’ [2008] was theatrical pop, ‘Born This Way’ [2011], to me, had more of a metal-electro New York vibe to it,” she added. “So I actually made the effort when making ‘Mayhem’ to not do that.
