Emilie Cunliffe has followed in the famous footsteps of mum Kym Marsh, who recently appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, as she embarks on her own solo music career with a new album named Stories.The 25 year-old has grown up around music and was just three years old when her mum joined the band Hear'Say, even appearing on The Voice UK at just 17 years old, an endeavour which she admits "didn't go to plan".
But now, the star is carving out her place in the industry and has shared during a chat with OK! that it was actually mum Kym who spurred her on to give things a go after suffering a "hit in confidence" when welcoming her son Teddy in 2019.
When we ask how the new record came around, Emilie explains: "My mum knew of a few music producers and she explained to them that I really do have a talent for performing.
I’d taken a break from music for a while to have my little boy Teddy and then Covid hit, but she knew I’d never given up my passion. "My producers took me to a studio to hear me sing and straightaway they said, 'We need to do this,' and I thought, “f I don’t do it now, when will I?
