The sad news came after David, known as Dave, shared his prostate cancer diagnosis in 2021. He appeared on BBC's Morning Live with Kym and his wife Pauline after he wanted to make others aware of the symptoms and to seek medical help.
In November 2023, Kym's parents appeared on the BBC One programme to provide an update with Kym, 47, saying they were living "day by day" as her father’s cancer had spread into his bones before it was announced on January 12 that Dave had sadly died. On his Just Giving page, Mikey said: "This page is in memory of David Marsh, Dave to most. The most loving husband, Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad, and the best friend you would ever know.
