Kyle Walker insists Manchester City’s remarkable run of form is down to the club maintaining high standards, rather than luck.
Much has been made of City’s perceived good fortune this season, with rivals bemoaning the supposedly favourable hand they were dealt with Covid-19 postponements and injuries.
Pep Guardiola’s side hold an 11-point advantage at the top of the table after beating Chelsea last weekend, and many have already declared the title race over with City looking unstoppable amid their 12-game winning streak.
Walker though insists it isn’t just luck that has seen his side dominate once again in the Premier League, with the Blues once again setting the standards for their rivals to follow. “We just seem to go on a run when people seem to drop points,” Walker told the club’s website. “Some people call it luck, but I don’t think you can have luck this many times throughout the number of seasons that I have been here. “I feel it is the standards that we set ourselves as a team.
