Kumail Nanjiani Wrote His Own Jokes in 'Eternals'

The 43-year-old actor was joined by his screenwriter wife, Emily V. Gordon, and his parents, Shabana and Aijaz Nanjiani, for the event.
In a new interview, director Chloe Zhao opened up about how she let Kumail write his own jokes as Kingo in the film. “It’s so important to make the audiences laugh, but I find it easier to make them cry than to make them laugh,” she shared with press, adding that she gives “Kumail a lot of props for helping me with” his dialogue having a lighter touch.
