Kobbie Mainoo has sent his best wishes to Willy Kambwala following confirmation of the young defender's transfer to Villarreal.
Kambwala, who made his first-team debut for Manchester United against West Ham in the Premier League last season, racked up eight league appearances and featured twice in the FA Cup.
He now heads to Spain in a deal that could reach £9.6 million. The departure of the ex-Sochaux talent marks the second paid exit from United this summer, with Donny van de Beek earlier moving to Girona for an initial fee of £500,000 plus add-ons.
This figure is notably less than the £35 million United spent to bring him from Ajax in 2020.
