Kippford RNLI’s Christmas coffee morning raised more than £1,000 for the charity. The wide array of cards and gifts gave the day a festive flavour and its always a busy one on the fundraising calendar, with more than 100 people thought to have turned up.

As well as a range of RNLI merchandise, visitors were also able to buy from the cake stall while enjoying a cuppa as well as trying their luck in the raffle.

Fundraising chairwoman, Cheryl McLella,n said: “There is a lot of work behind the scenes to run the coffee morning but it’s worth it to see so many people attending and contributing to the RNLI cause. “I’d like to thank all of the volunteers who help put this event together and everyone who donated a raffle prize. “I’d also like to thank Roan’s Dairy for providing the milk once again this year.” As the charity that saves lives at sea, the RNLI relies on donations from the public to continue operating.

The volunteer crew are on call 24 hours a day but they couldn’t do it without the support of the fundraising committee and the people who come along to support their events.
