King Charles has stepped out for a church service in London, in his first major public appearance since sharing his cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The King attended the Easter service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, accompanied by Queen Camilla and other members of the family.
He was seen waving to people around the Chapel, and mouthing “thankyou” for shouts of support from the crowds. Neither his son Prince William nor his daughter-in-law Kate attended the event, following Kate’s video message last week that she has begun cancer treatment after abdominal surgery earlier in the year.
The King, who has previously attended the service on foot, arrived by car. He has undertaken private events since his health diagnosis was made public, but the BBC reports he will continue to keep away from crowds and public events while he continues his treatment.
