King Charles III stands with his siblings as they take a moment ahead of the Commital Service for Queen Elizabeth II on Monday (September 19) in London, England. Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Forfar were also joined by many other members of their family, including Prince William and his son, Prince George of Wales, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. Peter Phillips, and Sir Timothy Laurence, Princess Anne‘s son and husband, were also seen waiting for The Queen‘s casket to arrive for the private ceremony.
The committal service was held at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and took place following the state funeral at Westminster Abbey.
A private burial in The King George VI Memorial Chapel followed. If you’re unaware, a committal service is a short ceremony that takes place at the end of the funeral, and is also where you say your final goodbye to your loved one before they are buried or cremated.
