Kid Rock’s Big A** Honky Tonk & Rock & Roll Steakhouse in Nashville remains open amid the coronavirus crisis despite pleas from the town mayor to close all restaurants and bars.

The bar and restaurant is one of a number of venues in Nashville that have so far defied the recommendations to temporarily close to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Large gatherings have been advised against in order to slow down the pandemic, but several establishments including Kid Rock’s Big A** Honky Tonk have kept their doors open to hundreds of revellers regardless.

Mayor John Cooper of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County tweeted: ‘I appreciate the timely, unanimous approval of the Metro Board of Health in declaring a public health emergency.
