Kid Cudi is speaking out to clarify where he stands with Kanye West amid the announcement that he will be featured on Pusha T‘s new album. Pusha T‘s upcoming album It’s Almost Dry was produced by Kanye and Pharrell Williams, so it seems likely that Cudi would have worked with Kanye if he appears on the album.

So I know some of you heard about the song I got w Pusha. I did this song a year ago when I was still cool w Kanye. I am not cool w that man.
He’s not my friend and I only cleared the song for Pusha cuz that’s my guy. This is the last song u will hear me on w Kanye,” he tweeted. Cudi was signed to Kanye‘s label as an emerging artist and they collaborated several times over the years, but their relationship took a turn when Kanye called out Cudi for his friendship with Pete Davidson. Kanye said he was dropping Cudi from the Donda 2 album and then the rapper-actor called out the mogul’s “lie.”
