The most common heart disease symptoms have been published in a new review by the American Heart Association (AHA), which notes men and women often experience different signs.
Heart and circulatory diseases affect millions of people in the UK, and sadly, they cause a quarter of deaths in the UK. Recognising the symptoms is hugely important, but some people may not experience any.
The new study evaluated symptoms of six cardiovascular diseases: heart attack, heart failure, valve disease, stroke, heart rhythm disorders, and peripheral artery and vein disease.
Signs may change over time given the long-term development of heart disease, reported researchers. The article, published in the journal Circulation, noted that identifying the signs is complicated given that symptoms are subjective and difficult to measure.
