It all began on a soaking Monday night in November when a one-time UEFA Cup finalist first lugged a bag of balls on to a muddy patch of grass in a public park in Edinburgh.Three and half years later the Kevin Thomson Academy now coaches up to 175 kids a week, including some of the most talented youngsters in the country.
Or at least it was doing right up until the coronavirus came coughing and spluttering into all of our lives.Which is why the former Rangers stalwart has come up with an ingenious idea to keep the country’s youngsters kicking a ball while Scotland is forced into lock down.Yesterday Thomson launched his own TV channel which will broadcast coaching clinics and skills challenges for free into homes up and down the land.
