In a column for The Times , ex-Blackburn Rovers hero Gallagher discussed how the Scotland strikers in the squad compared to those at Euro '96, which included himself, Rangers heroes Ally McCoist and Gordon Durie, as well as former Aberdeen star Scott Booth and then Chelsea forward John Spencer.
And he said: "I do think our attacking quality back at Euro 96 was a bit higher than today - or at least the strikers back then included a few, like me, playing at a high level in England.
