He got candid about a lot of things but most importantly opened up about the moment it finally clicked for him that homophobia isn’t cool… Yeah, it sounds wrong even having to say that, but hey, at least he’s growing.
He told the journalist: Seems simple enough. Like he really should have realized that, but OK! Related: Did YOU Notice That Blue Introduced The Show’s First Gay Couple?! And we’re sure it resonated even more hearing it from a fellow successful Black comedian… Who also happens to be a gay woman!
He added: Kevin actually got canceled back in 2018 — at least temporarily — after he was announced as the host of the Oscars and fans subsequently dug up horrendously homophobic posts on X (Twitter).
