Kerry Katona has issued an apology in the wake of the backlash she received for her April Fool’s pregnancy announcement. Kerry, 41, took to Instagram earlier today, Friday 1 April, where she shared a snap of an ultrasound scan.
She wrote alongside it: “Love you @ryanmahoney_7," with a love heart emoji. After people questioned if it was real or not, Kerry later added: "Bloody knew you lot wouldn't believe me!!!" with three laughing face emojis.
While Kerry made it clear it was a joke, a few of her fans weren't impressed with her attempt, and branded it as insensitive.
Kerry has since deleted the post from her page. Now, a spokesperson for the singer has issued an apology on Kerry’s behalf. "It was an April Fools joke for her fiancé Ryan [Mahoney] but she posted it to her public account and not her private one with very close friends by accident,” the statement began. “Kerry herself cannot have any more children due to medical issues and has openly spoken about this in the past. "She sincerely apologises to anyone who is offended and would never post anything to purposely upset anyone,” it went on, as per The Mirror.
