Kenny Docherty appointed new SMISA chairman after replacing Paisley MSP George Adam

SMISA have appointed former Scotrail company director Kenny Docherty as their new chair to help steer the club in the right direction.Following the decision of Paisley MSP George Adam to step down from the board, the remaining SMISA directors decided Docherty was the right man to step into the role.

Docherty has a long-standing association with SMISA, who became majority owners of St Mirren in July last year.A SMISA spokesperson said: “Kenny has been on the SMISA Board since 2017 and will look to continue the good work done by George over the past six years.”With board member Kenny Lang also recently stepping down from his position, SMISA are now looking for two new candidates to fill the vacancies well ahead of their AGM next spring.The spokesperson added: “Anybody who would like to stand should email contact@smisa.net and request an application form. "You will need to be nominated by two other SMISA members and have been a member for at least 90 days prior to the date nominations close, which is this Sunday, October 23.”Voting will run from October 24-28.READ MORE:
