The actor who plays Ken Barlow on Coronation Street, William Roache, has revealed his character has been ‘written out’ of the soap.
The actor has played the iconic role of Ken in the soap ever since it began in the early 1960s. William revealed that the members of the cast who are over the age of 70 have been written out of the soap.
As producers and the rest of the cast aim to return to production soon with social distancing guidelines in place following lockdown, the older actors will not be featured for the foreseeable future.
He also revealed that the show producers are hoping to resume filming in mid-June, with aims to cover the current health pandemic in upcoming storylines.
