Kelly Ripa Reveals How Much Weight She Gained After She Quit Drinking Alcohol

Kelly Ripa has been living the sober life for the past eight years. On Wednesday (January 22) Andy Cohen filled in for Mark Consuelos to co-host Live with Kelly and Mark alongside Kelly, 54.

During the episode, Andy, 56, voiced his frustrations about his inability to lose weight while participating in Dry January. Keep reading to find out more…Andy explained that he expected a “little weight loss” when he decided to quit drinking alcohol for the month, however, that had “not really happen[ed] yet.” Kelly then recalled, “I told you, when I quit drinking, I expected there to be this windfall of weight loss, because everybody’s like, ‘Well, you are gonna get too skinny, and you can’t afford to lose it.’” However, the opposite happened for Kelly and she ended up gaining 12 pounds when she quit drinking. “I don’t understand this magical weight loss that people apply,” Kelly continued. “I think I just took to eating the sugars.” In an interview from last year, Kelly‘s nutritionist revealed what the talk show host eats every day.
