Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter, actress, author and television personality. She rose to fame in 2002, after winning the first season of American Idol, which earned her a record deal with RCA Records. Clarkson's debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the country's best-selling single of 2002. It was followed by the release of her debut studio album, Thankful (2003), which debuted atop the US Billboard 200. Trying to reinvent her image, Clarkson parted ways with Idol management and shifted to pop rock music for her second album, Breakaway (2004). After numerous top 40 radio number-one singles, such as "Since U Been Gone" and "Because of You", the album sold over 12 million copies worldwide and earned Clarkson two Grammy Awards.

Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning are joining the NBC Olympics team to host the Opening Ceremony of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris this summer.

Clarkson and Manning will join Mike Tirico in the coverage along with Today show hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb. “This summer’s Opening Ceremony will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen, and we’re thrilled to have Kelly and Peyton join Mike to describe all the spectacular sights and sounds happening along The Seine leading to the lighting of the cauldron,” said Molly Solomon, Executive Producer & President, NBC Olympics Production. “Savannah and Hoda have one of the most exciting Opening Ceremony positions ever, reporting from a bridge above the river as athletes from around the globe sail by in a parade of nations the world has never seen.” The Opening Ceremony in Paris is ditching the stadium and turning the River Seine into a four-mile-long flotilla of more than 90 boats that will carry thousands of athletes from more than 200 countries.

Clarkson, Manning, and Tirico will be positioned at the Trocadero near the ceremony’s finish, with views of The Seine and Eiffel Tower.

NBC and Peacock will present live coverage of the Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26, beginning at Noon ET. Telemundo will provide Spanish-language coverage beginning at 1 p.m.
