Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter, actress, author and television personality. She rose to fame in 2002, after winning the first season of American Idol, which earned her a record deal with RCA Records. Clarkson's debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the country's best-selling single of 2002. It was followed by the release of her debut studio album, Thankful (2003), which debuted atop the US Billboard 200. Trying to reinvent her image, Clarkson parted ways with Idol management and shifted to pop rock music for her second album, Breakaway (2004). After numerous top 40 radio number-one singles, such as "Since U Been Gone" and "Because of You", the album sold over 12 million copies worldwide and earned Clarkson two Grammy Awards.

Between being a single mother for nearly two years, serving as host of her successful daytime talk show, among other television endeavors, and being chart-topping singer-songwriter, time is a precious commodity for Kelly Clarkson. So it makes perfect sense that Clarkson would get emotional when the nanny to her two young children, with ex-husbandBrandon Blackstock, presented her with a special Mother's Day gift that involved having her schedule wiped free of any responsibilities.'I'm a single mom, so I'm either at work or I'm with kids,' Clarkson began, when asked how she spent her mom's day in an interview with Extra, adding, 'I literally almost cried — like, she walked into the kitchen and was like, "Hey, for Mother's Day, I'm going to give you the gift of time and you can just do whatever you want."' Nearly broke down with joy: Kelly Clarkson, 40, revealed she almost shed some tears when her nanny gave her the gift of time for Mother's Day this yearDuring the interview, which took place during the finale of NBC's American Song Contest, Clarkson was joined by her co-host Snoop Dogg, who couldn't have agreed any more about time being a precious commodity for any parent.'No one understands how important time is,' the legendary rapper chimed-in on the subject.

It Turns out the Since U Been Gone star didn't have any grand celebration for Mother's Day this go-around, and instead went with the idea of the gift of time that was presented by her nanny.'I had the best day, it was amazing and I love her,' Clarkson said of the nanny and her much-needed break, albeit brief, from being a hands-on mom.
