evoke.ieSky News presenter Kay Burley is to return to work next week after a six-month break due to her 60th birthday party which she attended in London late last year.
Burley said at the time, after enjoying her 60th birthday at a Covid compliant restaurant, while waiting for a taxi to get home at 11pm, she ‘inadvertently broke the rules’ when ‘desperate for the loo I briefly popped into another restaurant to spend a penny.’ An internal review was carried out by Sky News, which said in a statement in December: ‘A small number of Sky News staff attended a social event in London on Saturday evening during which Covid-19 guidelines were breached.’ As a result of an internal review at the station, Political editor Beth Rigby and correspondent Inzamam
