Kay Burley is planning a trip to Africa after it was revealed that Sky News has taken her off air until the new year after she broke lockdown rules.

She made a cryptic post about lions "killing for food and not sport" when she shared the news about her trip on Twitter last night.

It comes after she apologised for "inadvertently breaking the rules" when she hosted a party and used the toilet in a different restuarant.

On Tuesday evening, Kay tweeted: "Lovely people, whatever else you read be safe in the knowledge I was always heading to my beloved Africa on Friday to sit with lions. "They kill for food not sport." During her 60th birthday celebrations, Kay and nine others partied at Century Club in Soho, London, breaking the rule of six.
