However, their whirlwind romance came to an abrupt end just over a year later and their divorce was finalised in 2012. Their highly-publicised romance and eventual split was heavily scrutinised at the time and Katy said it was the ‘first breaking of my idealistic mind’.
Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, the pop star added: ‘I was having great success at 23, 24, and 25, and then I met someone that was interesting and stimulating.
