It can't be all that easy finding buyers for a property that for years has been dubbed the Mucky Mansion - but Katie Price's former home has been sold, just weeks after the star was forced to leave. The sprawling property set in 12 acres of West Sussex countryside, once the home of a Conservative MP, has been given a makeover to attract prospective buyers and is now reported to have sold for £1.5million.That price tag represents a profit on the £1.35million she bought the place - which she has variously insisted was haunted or cursed because of the nightmare it proved to be for her - a decade ago.

However, 46-year-old Katie probably won't be celebrating since the profit on the property is likely to be swallowed up by her debts.

The home is unlikely to have gone to a Katie Price fan, with marketing materials making no mention of the famous resident who once lived there, instead talking up its potential as a charming place for a family to live.

The estate agent described it as: "A substantial detached family home including three reception rooms, nine bedrooms and four bath/shower rooms spread over three floors plus a one-bedroom annexe." The listing continued: "Offering the opportunity for refurbishment to potentially create an impressive family house with mature grounds including potential reinstatement of the tennis court and swimming pool and enhancements of the paddock and land." Katie herself attempted to give the home a makeover in her Channel 4 show Katie Price: Mucky Mansion but it was beset by problems including a leak in one of the rooms and vandalism.
