Katie Couric revealed that she had bulimia for seven to eight years when she was a teenager during a chapter of the new memoir Going There, which will be released on October 26.
The 64-year-old journalist detailed some of her struggles with an eating disorder during the 1980s, including purging and extreme dieting, in the book, as detailed by The New York Post, which received an advance copy of the book.
In one section of the book, Katie reflected on getting rejected from Smith College and drinking baking soda and water. After downing the mixture, she put her finger down her throat to force herself to throw up.
