David Foster received an incredible honor this weekend in his native Canada and his wife Katharine McPhee was there to help celebrate!

The 72-year-old songwriter received the Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award at the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards on Saturday (May 28) at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Canada.

Receiving the honor in Canada is basically the equivalent to receiving a Kennedy Center Honor in the United States. During the ceremony, Kat performed the song “Something to Shout About” from David‘s upcoming Betty Boop musical, which is currently being workshopped for Broadway.

The couple was in Canada just for a quick weekend and are now back in New York City for their five-night run at the Cafe Carlyle, an intimate 90-seat venue at the famed Carlyle Hotel.
