Kate Silverton has told how she felt like a "failure" of a woman after losing an ovary at 29. The BBC newsreader, now 50, lost one of her ovaries during an operation to remove a cyst and after the surgery, she feared her fiancé would no longer wish to marry her due to it being unlikely that she could fall pregnant naturally.
Despite her worries, Kate's husband, former Royal Marine Mike Heron, supported her and told her they would have children in their lives "in some way" whether it was naturally or through adoption or fostering.
