Johnny Depp
John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, singer, producer, and musician. He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

Washington Post op-ed titled, “Amber Heard: I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” In Heard's countersuit, the same jury also found that Depp's former attorney had defamed her when he claimed that the actress had made up the allegations of assault.

Depp and Heard are now both in the process of appealing the verdicts.During her testimony, Heard referenced a rumor she'd heard about Depp pushing Kate Moss down a flight of stairs while the two were dating in the '90s. "I just instantly think of Kate Moss and the stairs, and I swung at him," Heard said, per . “Everybody who was around in the ‘90s and the early aughts knew that rumor." The reference to this rumor allowed Depp’s team to call Moss as a witness in the trial.

During her testimony, said that the rumor is false. "I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back," Moss said under oath in May. "He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs." In an interview with BBC Radio 4's that aired Sunday, July 24, Moss explained why she testified during the trial and referenced fashion designer John Galliano, who was recorded shouting anti-Semitic slurs in 2010. "I believe in the truth, and I believe in fairness and justice," Moss said. "I know that John Galliano is not a bad person.

He had an alcohol problem and people turn. People aren't themselves when they drink, and they say things that they would never say if they were sober," she added. "I know the truth about Johnny.
